39 weeks
No change. Still 2 cm dilated, 70% effaced. Possible reasons:
1) Baby is being very considerate and letting Mommy and Daddy finish up as many things as possible before it makes an appearance.
2) Baby is one smart girl and after listening to Mommy and Daddy trying to put the fear of God into her brothers, decided that the longer she can stay inside, the better off she’ll be.
3) Baby is a boy, and has his Daddy’s personality. He got distracted by something else, and who knows when he’ll remember what he was trying to accomplish originally…

I’m now rooting for next Friday (8/22). It’s not my fault (really!) if I suddenly suggest that Bill get frisky next Thursday night to encourage that baby along.
I love your suggestions as to why the baby is so comfy. My sister claimed (much, much later) that Jennie “hid the key so I couldn’t come out on time”
Yes, Jennie hid the key in the cupboard, so I couldn’t unlock the door. Mom says it’s no wonder she was so uncomfortable, she didn’t realize she was hauling around a bunch of furniture in there with me!
