Grace in Small Things – 28/365
- My husband, who is so good with the kids.
- Picked up some more library books today. I love libraries!
- Laundry is done!
- Kitchen is clean!
- Day one of not smoking. Mostly because I can’t afford a $15-a-week bad habit. *sigh*

Good luck! I’m trying to shed my $15 a week bad habit as well, but I’m waiting until New Years’ is over to try that one. Summoning my will power, saying goodbye to an old friend… I hate everything about smoking until I decide to quit, and then I forget why I hate it so much.
Go Olya! And go Leigh! I’ve heard that it’s hard (having no experience with it myself), so good luck. I plan to quit my over-eating habit on Jan 1. Maybe the food bills will go down?
Lol, sis I don’t think so, because Beth can pack away enough food for her, her brother, and her sister.
The only thing I hate about smoking is the stale cigarette smell on the clothes. If they made nicotine-free cigarettes, I would be first in line to buy them, because I LOVE my smoke breaks :)
Good luck quitting, Leigh. I am sure neither one of us will be having fun doing it. And Shannon, I will be joining you in the battle of over-eating come January 1st, too. Doubt that would be fun, either…
Ouch Double Whammy for Olya!
Yeah. I am going to be such a joy to be around. NOT. And the week spent at home with the bundles of joy is so not going to help, either. I should just change my name to SuperBitch for the duration :P
Yeah, about next week….
I’ll cook up something healthy and not yummy so we don’t eat too much. Oh wait, Bill should be cooking, not me. Oh well, so much for that idea.
Good luck, all of you!
1. Friends arranged a driver to take me to the airport.
2. I didn’t have to pay for overweight luggage (limits are much lower for domestic flights in China).
3. Even though we left an hour late from Beijing (because every single passenger was searched before boarding), I still had plenty of time in Seattle.
4. At least the banana cake they served with dinner was good. (I am NOT a fan of the food on Hainan Airlines.)
5. I and all my luggage made it safely (and early) to Chicago, and we were home before midnight. (Nothing like traveling for 30 hours …)
I haven’t attempted to quit yet, but it’s coming soon. After the first week or so the I guess it isn’t bad, but you have to get over the mental attachment to it, which tends to be my downfall. I have no idea how many times I’ve tried quitting, I lost count years ago.
