Grace in Small Things – 48/365 & 49/365 & 50/365
- Grace in Small Things does not REQUIRE me to post every day, so when I fall behind (or have grace-less days), there is an opportunity to catch up.
- Website redesign launch at work went well; people seem to like it. Still lots of work to do on my end.
- I made it to work at 6 am (Monday) and 7 am (Tuesday).
- I am actually being productive while at work – things are getting done! Now if I only wasn’t years behind…
- It’s been unseasonably warm this week.
- Mel keeps coming over and playing with the kids, even when the kids are being brats.
- Hot chai.
- The house is a mess, but I am not getting all stressed out because of it.
- Going to bed early.
- I kicked Eric’s butt in Scrabble – pretty sure that’s not likely to happen again, so savoring my victory while I can :-)
- Reading Heather and Jessica’s commentary on Golden Globe outfits at Go Fug Yourself – they are hilarious!
- “Hide” button on Facebook.
- Still not smoking.
- Tor.com and “Wheel of Time” and “Lord of the Rings.” rereads, and oh so many other interesting posts, especially Jo Walton’s book reviews.
- There are new episodes of “Chuck,” “Castle,” and “White Collar” in my Hulu cue, waiting to be watched.

Congratulations on beating Eric! And on your continued not smoking.
1. Arriving safely in Chengdu, even though the train rides were really long.
2. Hour-long massages for less than $4.
3. Good Tibetan food.
4. Pandas!!!!
5. Not feeling tired in spite of lack of sleep.
Congrats on still not smoking. You’re doing great! And on beating Eric! I know just how hard that is!
Karen – Hour-long massages for $4 sounds like heaven. I have to keep paying $70, plus tip! Every month no less because my back is so messed up from lugging around a 27 pound one year old who’s still not walking!
My sympathies, Shannon! Life with a messed up back is no fun….
6. So far no rain on our trip, even though it’s been looking like it the last couple days.
7. Korean barbecue for lunch (especially the grilled eggplant).
8. My hair is drying OK, even though it’s a lot more humid here.
9. This hostel has free internet.
10. We got our return tickets booked, so we don’t have to worry about running out of money and not being able to get home (as long as we can get to Bangkok…)
11. My sister can now send me text messages from the US.
12. My backpack won’t be nearly as heavy since I gave Ben all his stuff.
13. KFC and McDonald’s, because they’re almost certain to have clean restrooms.
14. The hostel staff put a bowl of oranges in our room.
15. So far, we’ve only taken a wrong bus once, and we realized it before we went too far.
