Grace in Small Things – 109/365 & 110/365
- Good time at Eric’s birthday party.
- Yummy birthday cake.
- Mother-in-law is really trying to spend more time with the kids.
- Nice lunch with Peggy.
- Long walk and good talk after lunch.
- Finishing Cassandra Clare’s “Mortal Instruments” trilogy.
- Sleeping in.
- Friends having babies.
- It is now officially spring. I shall try my best to ignore the fact that it is going to snow tomorrow.
- Guy Gavriel Kay has a new book coming out in April – “Under Heaven.” I want.

1. Survived first dust storm of season without getting hit by any of the roof tiles that blew off, and the windows that broke at school weren’t in our office.
2. Didn’t have to drink baijiu at co-worker’s wedding dinner.
3. Securing the last tickets for our bus to Yinchuan.
4. Visiting the Western store in Yinchuan—they have A&W root beer! And Twizzlers!
5. Watching chick flicks with Lynn when Ben’s gone.
6. A former student coming to visit.
7. Playing Settlers of Catan for the first time in months.
8. Finally getting to see a friend’s baby, who is now four months old already.
9. Aforementioned baby not being scared by these funny-looking people who speak a strange language. (She was actually quite content for us to hold her.)
10. Properly cooked garlic stems.
1. Eric’s birthday party was a great success
2. Eric’s birthday cake turned out well
3. I didn’t fall over dead after all that cooking!
4. New JD Robb book waiting at the library for me
5. Finished all the “Revenge of the Sisterhood” books by Fern Michaels
6. Good time at the “Brunch with the Bunny” on Saturday with the kids
7. Eric and I had a chance to play his new board game
8. Alicia was able to stay more than an hour at Eric’s party
9. Finally got to meet Alicia’s new guy
10. Beth took the “foreign” pacifier after we managed to lose the last of her 4 “regular” ones.
By Eric’s birthday party, you did indeed mean my brother in law, right? The one who I just found out I snubbed for a birthday card? *Ahem*
Yup, that would be the Eric in question ;-)
